Traveling through Japan for two months and this was our favorite hotel. We started our trip in this hotel to recover from our flight and then decided to stay again before our return to home to recover from our nonstop busy sightseeing schedule. This hotel is truly a magical retreat. They provide a peaceful environment with five star service and a fine dining experience the restaurant should be a Michelin star restaurant. We stayed for five nights and each night we were treated to a fabulous seven course gourmet dinner. The service was excellent. The onsen has several hot spring pools with one outdoor pool which was so relaxing at night I loved to hear the water from the rapids and get a view of the moon and many stars. Of course the balcony with my private onsen tub was my favorite. We loved our stay at this hotel and definitely plan on returning.

Great location, lovely view over the river. The private onsen was great with the main public onsen even more impressive. The staff were friendly and efficient, and as the language was a bit of an issue we managed to understand each other, with a few laughs and many arigato's! The free shuttle bus to Jomo Kogen station to board the Shinkansen was a great surprise.

This hotel is quite new and is a beautiful piece of modern design. The interiors are warm and welcoming with lots of wood and beautiful lighting. Service was excellent. Our triple room was spacious by Japanese standards and had the same warm welcoming vibe as the rest of the hotel. Beds were super comfy with the puffiest down duvets on them to keep us warm. The Onsen Bath on the balcony was amazing. We were lucky enough to have snow falling for most of our stay and it was so lovely to lie in the Onsen Bath and watch the snow. Location right in the centre of Minikami Onsen meant we could easily walk to restaurants and a supermarket. We loved our stay here and would definitely book again!

I like the hotel is new. room is clean. love the bathtub on the balcony. Nice public onsen bath house. Hotel's location is decent from Yuzawa's ski resorts. However, lack of restaruant option pass 7:00pm is a bit of tragic.

Lovely spacious rooms, helpful kind staff, Meals were well prepared and the afternoon tea on check in was a lovely touch. View from room and outdoor bath was stunning, so special. Staff very helpful when we needed extra help to contact local onsen, they were so kind and called ahead for us so we could keep our booking on very short notice.

The staff were friendly and helpful. Checking-in and out was easy. The room is very spacious and clean. The open-air bath is fantastic. The view of the mountains and Tone River from the balcony is awesome. The soundproofing of the balcony door is great as I didn’t hear any sound of the river and trains when I was sleeping at night. Overall, it was a restful stay and I enjoyed my stay very much. I highly recommend the hotel to anyone visiting Minakami.

Beautiful hotel. We had the most relaxing experience. From the moment we walked into the hotel we felt welcomed by the wonderful staff. The hotel is very clean and peaceful. The beds are comfortable with the most comfortable pillows we have had in our entire Japan trip. I loved the private onsen in the balcony with the view of the mountains and the sound of the cicadas. I loved this place it has been my favorite hotel so far.

Easy to access by car, staff were very kind and accommodating. Family Mart within walking distance and some restaurants and shops nearby. Private onsen on the balcony was a highlight. Overall very quiet area with beautiful views overlooking the river

The room was extremely spacious, loved the private onsen and view from the room. The public bath is very good lots of baths (indoor and outdoor) and a sauna. The hotel is in a quiet location, but that isn’t a bother as the hotel is very relaxing and has good facilities. Often the had the public bath to yourself.

The hotel was perfect in every way. The room was huge, the bed was so comfy, the bathroom was practical and pristine. We even had our own Onsen bath on the balcony. We had a stunning view over the river. The staff were so helpful and kind. I will come back here next time I’m in Japan. The main public onsen was incredible, clean, modern. Just a wonderful hotel.
